CETLA Learning Management System (LMS) Essentials Course

 

The Learning Management System (LMS) Essentials Course (formerly Blackboard Certification). The Learning Management System or LMS is a software application for the administration, documentation, tracking, reporting, automation and delivery of educational courses, training programs, or learning and development programs.  Howard University's LMS is Blackboard. The LMS can be used to facilitate courses across all instructional modalities (face-to-face, HY-FLEX, hybrid-blended, & online).  

 

Please Note: All faculty having completed the Blackboard Certification will be recognized as being certified in the LMS Essentials and not expected to complete the LMS Essentials Course.  

  

The LMS Essentials Course offers self-paced (6) module learning experience that covers the following (LMS) content:  

  • LMS 01 Overview  
  • LMS 02 Discussion Board  
  • LMS 03 Creating Assignments  
  • LMS 04 LMS Assessment Features  
  • LMS 05 Gradebook  
  • LMS 06 Web 2.0 Tools 

    These modules are designed to provide an opportunity to develop the essential skills to effectively use the Learning Management System for facilitating learning experiences. In addition, the course will increase the participants' capacity to utilize instructional technology in general.
