CETLA Timeline

Come to CETLA'S 10th Anniversary!

Monday, October 7, from 10am to 4pm, the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Learning & Assessment (CETLA) celebrated its 10th anniversary.   For ten years, CETLA has depended upon the participation and contributions of Howard University’s faculty, so CETLA wanted to celebrate its anniversary by giving faculty refreshments, awards, and prizes.  That’s why CETLA invited Howard University’s faculty to come to Suite 244 in the iLab on October 7th to enjoy breakfast, lunch, and birthday cake; to honor colleagues; and to earn a raffle ticket every time they tried a new HU technology at CETLA.  For instance, faculty could earn tickets for testing Tegrity lecture capture, the Epson projector, Refworks, Blackboard VideoEverywhere, or they could win raffle tickets for answering questions in a Jeopardy game about CETLA or for uploading their syllabus to the Syllabus Database. Raffle drawings took place every hour for prizes, including iPad minis, Swivl tracking cameras for high-quality lecture recordings and a Brookstone HDMI pocket projector.  The more raffle tickets faculty won, the more likely they were to win a prize--and were bound to learn something new in the process.
